Egg Donor Profile

blankDeciding to become an egg donor is accompanied not only with conflicting feelings, but there are several requirements potential egg donors must meet in order to qualify for the task. Please review the following carefully in order to decide whether you meet the criteria for becoming an egg donor.

Egg Donor Profile

- must be between the ages 21 - 30
- preferably gave birth to at least one healthy child
- no history of drug or alcohol abuse
- no history of sexually transmitted disease
- must pass a full physical exam, including a blood and urine test
- must pass a psychological exam
- must agree to take fertility medications to stimulate your ovaries to produce many eggs at one time
- must give written consent to be an egg donor after initial screening
- no family history of hereditary diseases
- no major medical problems, surgeries, mental retardation, or psychiatric problems
- must understand that once the eggs are retrieved from your ovaries, you have no legal control over what happens to them and you bear no responsibility for the outcome of the pregnancy
